Here I am painting in front of the Cooper Hewitt Museum, October 2008, the photo taken by AndrČ from New York ( nycandre on flickr ). I paint outdoors because I love full spectrum sunlight. I am 71 years old in this photo, working on an 11x14" oil painting of my daughter Diana and her god-grandmother, Bertha Huber, painted from memory. Memory paintings take longer than painting from life or from photographs, but they me with the inner visions they evoke. Painting mental images is what I call "painting what I don't know how to paint," and I think that's the best kind of painting there is.
I have organized my web page into links. Try clicking on the names or photographs below.
